Wristband deadline missed by trusts
6th November 2009
Almost one third of NHS acute trusts in England and Wales have failed to meet the requirement to generate and print standardised patient wristbands.
The National Patient Safety Agency said that by the deadline in July, only 70% of trusts had complied with the requirements of the Safer Practice Notice Alert issued in March 2007. The alert came after more than 24,000 patients received the wrong care within the space of a year with almost 3,000 related to poorly written wristbands.
